ROBINSON WEEKS PARTNERS RECEIVES INDUSTRIAL DEAL OF THE YEAR AWARD

ATLANTA, GA – Robinson Weeks Partners (www.RobinsonWeeks.com), an Atlanta-based real estate  development and acquisition company, received the Industrial Deal of the Year Award from the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) Atlanta chapter for 2018. The award was based on  Robinson Weeks development of the HD Supply facility at Gillem Logistics Center, in Forest Park, GA.

“We are pleased to have partnered with HD Supply and accommodate their growing real estate needs. The public-private partnership we have formed with the City of Forest Park has been a fantastic experience and a  true win-win for everyone” said Forrest Robinson, CEO of Robinson Weeks Partners.

The building features 1,017,627 square feet, 40’ clear height, cross-dock loading, and 190’ truck courts. It has 500+ trailer parking spaces, 400 auto parks, and 200 dock doors. The project will bring 260+ new jobs to The City of Forest Park.

“Robinson Weeks and the Gillem Logistics Center provided HD Supply with an attractive solution to meet our  need for a large space in close proximity to the urban infrastructure,” said Ryan Howard, Director of Estate and Construction. “It has been a pleasure to partner with their team on this project.”

Robinson Weeks Partners is the master developer of Gillem Logistics Center, the former Fort Gillem Army Base, located just south of Hartsfield Jackson International Airport. Fort Gillem, built in 1941, started as a  WWII logistics center that fed the Port of Savannah with Army supplies. In 2005, it was announced that Fort  Gillem would be shut down as part of the large BRAC (Base Realignment and Closure) program, and 4,000 jobs would go along with it. Over the next ten years, Robinson Weeks Partners worked with The City of Forest  Park, the US Army, the local community, among other entities and governmental bodies, to create the plans for the future of Fort Gillem.

Mayor of The City of Forest Park, Angelyne Butler, said, “Our great City of Forest Park is developing and  growing closer into its promise. The changes being made are outstanding and being recognized by an organization such as NAIOP, proves that we are moving upward and forward in our community. We want to acknowledge and thank HD Supply for trusting Forest Park with this process.”

Robinson Weeks is pleased to recognize all of the other team members that helped with this project. Conlan Company as the general contractor for the project, Randall-Paulson Architects as the lead architect for the project, Eberly & Associates and Oasis Consulting Services as the engineering team. HD Supply was represented by Darren Ross and Douglas Biggs from Colliers. Robinson Weeks was represented by Bob Currie and Reed Davis from JLL.
